The activities of the Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA)
Natural Resources Assessment section focus on the impacts of
agriculture chemicals on Washington state's natural resources.
The goal of WSDA is to work together with the agricultural community
and regulators to protect Washington's natural wealth and the
environment.
WSDA is developing analytical tools that will be used to identify,
evaluate and mitigate impacts to Washington's renewable and
non-renewable resources.
Staff includes a hydro-geologist; an environmental toxicologist;
specialists in crop and pesticide use, crop mapping, groundwater,
and waste pesticide disposal; and a database and application
developer.
