Products Registered for Chemigation

The USEPA requires pesticide labeling to include provisions for the safe and effective application of a pesticide through an irrigation system and for worker protection. A pesticide can be used for chemigation only when the label denotes that the product is registered for use in a chemigation system. The pesticide label will list approved irrigation systems with required safety devices, which must be in place and properly functioning before the product can be used. Otherwise the label must note: "Do not apply this product through any type of irrigation system." As a legal document, the responsible applicator is legally accountable in complying with all the provisions contained on the pesticide label.
