Expedited Rule Making

This rulemaking order was proposed under an expedited rule-making process, which eliminated the need for the agency to hold public hearings, prepare a small business Impact Statement, or provide responses to the criteria for a significant legislative rule.

Purpose:
This rule-making order amends chapters 16-301-045, 16-301-050, 16-302-100 and 16-302-105 by modifying the scientific names of noxious weed seeds in order to update and reconcile the names with the current nomenclature as listed in the The United States Department of Agriculture - Germplasm Resource Information Network (GRIN).  This reduces confusion as to which seeds are considered noxious and will help to ensure that weed seeds are categorized correctly for the seed shipments into Washington.

Date of Adoption: July 22, 2009        Effective: August 22, 2008
