Cattle and Bison Diseases
in Washington State

Chapter 16-86 WAC

Washington state has seen an increase in Tuberculosis (TB) cases from cattle importing into the state. The United States Department of Agricultures TB Uniform Methods and Rules now have standards for TB responder detection rates for private practitioners performing Caudal Fold testing. Washington must meet these standards to assure proper testing measures are in place to protect the industry. Therefore, WSDA is considering developing a rule proposal to add a section within WAC 16-86 that would require training for private practitioners who perform TB testing.

Adopted Date: January 9, 2009  Effective Date: February 10, 2009
