Export Certificates of
Sanitation and Free Sale are issued for transporting processed
foods into domestic and international markets.
These certificates are also known as Certificates of Free Sale,
Sanitary Certificates, Certificates of Sanitation, and Certificates
of Origin.
WSDA issues export certificates for food products that are
manufactured in Washington by a wholesale food processor licensed by
the WSDA Food Safety Program. To view PDF files,

Criteria for issuing export certificates (WAC 16-147)
How much does an export certificate cost?
Each original certificate is $50.00. You will receive an invoice for
payment, which is due on receipt of the certificate.
When
will I receive my export certificate?
Certificates are processed within 10 business days of receiving a
completed request form.
How do I request an export
certificate?
1. Complete a "Request
for Export Certificate of Sanitation and Free Sale"

On the request form, select the type of export certificate you
need.
Examples of export certificates:
Food Products Manufactured Out of State
If you need to obtain an Export Certificate of Sanitation and
Free Sale for a food product manufactured out of state, you will
need to contact the state official in the state the product was
manufactured.
