The Washington State Animal Identification System (WSAIS) is a web based data system that stores livestock identification information such as Brand records, Bangs tags, Certificates of Veterinary Inspection, test information (i.e. Brucellosis, Tuberculosis), etc

WSAIS also houses voluntary contact information in case of an animal health event.

There are three components of the WSAIS:

1)  Contact Information

2)  Animal Identification

3)  Animal Tracing

Contact Information

Contact Information:

·      Providing WSDA with your contact information will assist us in notifying you if an animal health event has occurred in your area.

·      WSDA will provide you with precautions to take to protect your livestock.

·      Many of the certificates we have (Certificates of Veterinary Inspection, Brand Inspections…) have PO Boxes or invalid addresses.

·      WSDA needs valid contact information in order to quickly notify you during an animal health event.

Information Needed:

·       Name

·      Address of livestock operation

·      Phone number

Individuals That Should Register Their Contact Information:

·      WSDA recommends that producers with bovine (cattle & bison), equine (horses, mules & donkeys), swine, goats, sheep, poultry and camelids (llamas & alpacas) register their contact information.

Information Storage:

·      Livestock operators have the option of registering their voluntary contact information in the Washington State database only or in both the Washington State and Federal databases.

Confidentiality:

·      All information submitted by an individual or a business for the purpose of participating in a state or national identification system is exempt from public disclosure under RCW 42.56.380(9).

To Register Your Contact Information:

·      Producers can register their contact information by downloading the application (Word) or (PDF).

·      Producers that want to register with the Washington State database only, can NOT register online.

·      Producers that want to register with both the Washington State and federal databases CAN register online.
